Since Canik introduced the TP9 Elite SC pistol in 2019, it’s become their top-selling model for concealed carry. Additionally, weapon-mounted lights are becoming increasingly mainstream as an illumination tool for CCW weapons.
We receive several questions each month regarding the holsters for the TP9 Elite SC, but one that seems to come up repeatedly involves the TP9 Elite SC and the OLight series of weapon lights. We’ve been asked about holsters for several different Canik pistols equipped with various O-Light pistol-mounted lights, but the combination we are asked about the most is a Canik TP9 Elite SC holster with Olight Mini mounted.
OLight offers several versions of the Mini, including the following models:
- Baldr Mini Tactical Light
- PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie
- Baldr RL Mini Tactical Light
Since each of those Mini variants features different dimensions, they won’t fit in a one-size fits all type of holster. For optimal performance, you would need a holster made specifically for the Elite SC with one of those Mini light versions.
We carry a holster brand called MTR Custom that offers leather holsters for the TP9 Elite SC handgun equipped with any of the three Olight Mini tactical lights mentioned above. Since these holsters are custom-made, identifying the specific version of the Mini Olight mounted on the pistol is necessary.
From a holster style standpoint, MTR Custom features several outside the waistband and inside the waistband models for the Elite SC pistol/light configuration. In addition, each holster is also available with additional options that can be added to the holster.

One issue that is common to light bearing holsters is the possibility that the light activates when the pistol is inserted into the holster, draining the battery. MTR Custom uses a process that molds a slight bit of additional space around the light to avoid this issue.
